Hey, I'm George. I'm a Clinical Psychologist and dedicated Boxing Coach. Specialising in body-based therapies, I integrate non-contact boxing classes and embodied life coaching to support people in coming home to their bodies and reconnecting with themselves. Having been described as full of energy and at times like 'Tigger', I was in my element when I found boxing. I found boxing in later life, entering in to my first charity boxing fight at the ripe age of 34 years old. Movement has always been a big part of my life and I've dabbled in a few different kinds - burlesque, dance, watersports to name a few! I'm passionate about creating a community for women who have experienced trauma or struggle with confidence and this is what led me to develop and offer a way of moving to support women to embrace and unleash their anger in healthy ways, while embracing their strength and vulnerability.

During this session, Rebecca, from Healthy Balance Pilates, will include a variety of classical Pilates mathwork movements coupled with stretches and a short meditation at the end to make you feel good in both mind and body. Pilates is for 'every body’ so grab your mat and come and join us! Pilates is a great way to help improve flexibility, coordination, core strength, any ongoing back pain or alignment issues and so much more. This session is for beginners through to those practising Pilates regularly and will be a great way to start your weekend at the festival.
Rebecca - Healthy Balance Pilates, North Devon. Rebecca first discovered Pilates over 16 years ago and was hooked from her very first class! She qualified over 5+ years ago and loves teaching classes in the local North Devon community! Her classes typically offer a range of classical movements on the mat alongside stretching and mobility exercises.
As well as matwork based sessions she teaches chair based and prenatal classes. You can expect a fun and friendly session as she joins us on the Friday afternoon.

Kinetic Balance is a body awareness programme where participants learn to see their imbalances and once, they have learnt to see. We can feel and once we have felt that imbalance, we can then start the process to heal. Teaching our bodies to move different through everyday life by applying physics to our movement. Something we learnt as toddlers but then as we have gotten older have forgotten.
By applying ground reaction force, which is a conscience push of the earth we can gain length automatically without the old-fashioned shoulders back approach. Teaching this method creates joint support and helps us maintain strong muscles as we apply it through walking, running and even sitting.
We also incorporate asymmetrical movement to assist and work with people's imbalance, we are all built asymmetrically so there for if we are trying to make both sides of our body respond the same, it actually only continues to strengthen up the stronger side and our weaker sides continues to try and catch up. It's an impossible task.
